Electronics
Detection
Our electronic-detection K9s are expertly trained and ready for deployment before handlers arrive for training. By working closely with both the K9s and handlers, familiarizing them with operational environments, and proactively addressing potential distractions, we ensure our K9s are capable of performing in diverse settings and are fully prepared for immediate action upon their arrival at the agency.
Certification and Approach
Handlers of Electronic Detection K9 units undergo rigorous training to effectively partner with their canine counterparts. They are taught to systematically work through various scenes using methodologies that align with those of fire investigators. This specialized training ensures that the handler and the K9 operate efficiently and accurately during investigations.
The inclusion of K9 units in investigations significantly enhances the investigative process. By employing the K9 methodically, handlers can quickly and precisely identify areas of interest where electronic devices may be present. This decreases the overall time spent at the scene and increases the likelihood of gathering crucial evidence. Utilizing the acute olfactory abilities of the K9s, investigators can locate and recover electronic devices that may have been damaged by fire or concealed within debris, leading to higher success rates in data recovery and analysis. The strategic use of Electronics Detection K9s has proven to be an invaluable asset in fire investigation teams.
"I would highly suggest to any law enforcement agency or ICAC Unit seeking to incorporate an Electronic Storage Detection K9 to their Agency, to get a hold of Jordan Detection K9 and find out how to acquire one of these highly trained K9’s. You will not be disappointed."

K9 Pre-Placement Training
Accelerant Detection K9s receive comprehensive training and are actively deployed in fire investigation scenes before being paired with a handler. This preparatory phase ensures that the K9s are experienced and ready for fieldwork. They are tasked with providing support in real-world scenarios, marking them as fully operational prior to their official placement with a designated handler.
Passive-Alert Training Method
The K9s are specifically trained using the passive-alert method. This technique is designed to minimize any potential disturbance to evidence. The K9s learn to signal the presence of an accelerant without physically touching or altering the scene, thereby preserving the integrity of the evidence until it can be collected by a trained fire investigator.
K9 Handler Course and Certification
The adoption of an Accelerant Detection K9 includes a two-week handler course, the cost of which is incorporated into the price of the K9. This extensive training program is conducted in the Indianapolis, Indiana area and is an essential component for handlers to learn how to effectively work with their new K9 partners. Additionally, to maintain a high standard of expertise and ensure ongoing proficiency, all handlers must undergo annual re-certification through Jordan Detection K9. This process guarantees that both the K9s and their handlers remain adept in contemporary fire investigation procedures.
